In a disturbing trend, we're once again looking for those interested in a room at the Lunnderdome. The "library" room will be available starting in August. If you haven't been there recently, there is now a new door limiting access to the room without limiting traffic to the ground floor bathroom. |

Bergen County, New Jersey's finest are all over my hotel room. I can't get to my room to retrieve my Blizzard authenticator :( No word from the 5.0 or the staff as to when we might be allowed back to our rooms, nor as to what has brought a dozen law enforcement vehicles to our quiet Doubletree. |

Lucienne arrived safely today in Monrovia, Liberia for the beginning of her 7 week internship. Delta routed her from Philadelphia to Atlanta to Brussels to Monrovia after the direct flight from JFK was canceled.
She doesn't have a SIM card yet, but once she does, feel free to contact me for the number if you want to call her. So far as we know, she won't have the tubes available where she's staying, so she'll only be online at work. But Skype is likely to work well. |

So, most of you already know by the lack of an ecstatic follow-up from the last post that I didn't get the job at that large search engine company. "The hiring committee could not reach consensus on my application". A nice way of putting that my 6-hour gauntlet exposed some holes in my knowledge of everything.
Iron Chef Japan Morimoto was the guest chef at the cafeteria the day I was there. I saw him, in person, from about 3 feet away. I was sure it was a good omen.
To add injury to insult, the company I just took a job with is going under. So, I find myself unemployed at an inopportune juncture. It is a great excuse to not go nuts on the holidays, but it's not optimal planning either, considering I just bought a car.
I'm interviewing Monday with a company that's about a 45 minute drive from my house. I don't know if I'm more hopeful to get it and thus be relieved of the anxiety of unemployment, or be passed over so that I don't have to spend that much time in the car each week.
Need the skills of a software developer or software architect? Inquire within. I have till February to find something before I start filling out applications at McDonalds. |
